Yuki Ishihara
Violin
Born in Tokyo in 1993. Started playing the violin at age two, composing at age eleven and conducting at age fifteen.
Completed Bachelor’s and Master‘s degree programmes for the violin with the highest honors at Berlin University of the Arts after graduation from Toho Gakuen College’s Music Department. Subsequently enrolled in Berlin University of the Arts’ conducting department. Belonged to the Orchestra Academy under the Germany-based Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra between 2019 and 2021. Appeared in numerous performances by that orchestra.
Won first and other prizes at the likes of the 9th Swedish International Duo Competition and the 2nd International Telekom Beethoven Competition, as well as two Music Festival Awards and a Music Supervision Award at the 36th Kirishima International Music Festival, as a violinist. Appeared in performances by the likes of the Germany-based Brandenburg Symphony Orchestra and Prussia Chamber Orchestra as a conductor. Appeared in multiple Japan-side music festivals that include the Spring Festival in Tokyo, the Kirishima International Music Festival and the Julita Music Festival. Has also conducted performances across Japan and Europe. Has been appearing in performances by the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra and other orchestras as well as a guest concert master and guest principal performer in recent years.
