Cellist who simultaneously possesses a refined, transparent timbre and lush lyricism. First person to simultaneously win both the Student Music Concours of Japan and the Music Competition of Japan when he was a second-year high school student. Won an award at the Romanian International Music Competition, the Special Award at the “Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann” international cello competition, the All-German Music University Arnold Foundation Award, the Newcomer Award at the Aoyama Music Awards, and the Frédéric Chopin Society of Japan Award. Has performed as a soloist with the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia in Belgium, the Savaria Symphony Orchestra in Hungary, the Berlin Konzerthaus Orchestra, the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra, and the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. Has appeared at the Spring Festival in Tokyo and the Tomin Festival. Graduated top of his class at Toho Gakuen College, the University of Music Saar, and Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media. Currently enrolled in the Konzertexamen Program at the Lübeck University of Music. Comes from a family line of musicians associated with the Kansai region, with Hichiriki flute player Toshiyasu Togi as his great-great-grandfather.
