Yuki Ishihara
Violin
Principal Second Violinist in the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra. Completed Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes for the violin with the highest honors at Berlin University of the Arts after graduation from Toho Gakuen College’s Music Department. Subsequently enrolled in Berlin University of the Arts’ conducting department (International Conducting Academy Berlin). Belonged to the Orchestra Academy under the Germany-based Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra between 2019 and 2021. Won first prize at the 9th Swedish International Duo Competition and the Special Prize at the 2nd International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition as well as two Music Festival Awards and the Music Director Award at the 36th Kirishima International Music Festival. Also an active chamber music performer both inside and outside Japan, appearing in performances at the Spring Festival in Tokyo, the Julita Music Festival in Sweden, and the Pierre Boulez Saal in Germany, among others. Has been appearing in performances by various orchestras across Japan as a guest concert master and guest principal performer in recent years. Also plays in joint performances with numerous performers and organizations and is involved in music production as a conductor, composer, and arranger.
